Boards Mount Blade: Warband Importance of map party speed User Info: Kharillle Kharillle 6 years ago 1. Its annoying when you end up spending half a day or more just to chase a small party of bandits. Doesnt help that I have 48 soldiers, even if theyre all mounted. I figure its best to get an all horse group and head somewhere where they rely on infantry. User Info: GoaFan77 GoaFan77 6 years ago 2 The best way to chase people down is actually to have a companion with a very high path finding skill. Having a high cavalry:infantry ratio also helps, but I can catch steppe and desert bandits with a high path finding skill, and maybe 30 mounted units. How ridiculous and how strange to be surprised at anything which happens in life User Info: Howdy7777777 Howdy7777777 6 years ago 3 Path finding, especially at the highest levels makes a huge difference. Also having trade goods in your inventory can slow you down a lot. SWTOR is all about the journey, WoW is all about the destination. User Info: Lvthn Lvthn 5 years ago 6 IMO path finding is second only to surgery for how important it is as a party skill. With high path finding and a light inventory you can achieve 8.0 map speed, easily enough to not merely run people down or escape with ease, but to use encircling maneuvers once youre stronger, to pull ahead of a fleeing enemy and drive them back again into your allies so you can gang beat them, as well as use this to separate parties that would be dangerous in combination but are able to be separated and safely beaten that way. Not to mention, nobody has time to spend 12 hours running down desert bandits. User Info: Stuflames Stuflames 5 years ago 7 IMO Path Finding Surgery. Surgery, at the end of the day, is a money saving skill once you have a base where you can store troops. Money saving is very important in MB, but when it comes down to the actual gameplay mechanics Pathfinding is very important for picking and succeeding in field engagements, and is just convenient as all get-out. Of course, companions can ensure youre not too light in either. Even with tons of troops stockpiled in garrisons, having to go home for replacements mid-campaign is more than merely annoying. Of course, surgery is best paired with first aid and wound treatment, so that your party will be able to attack repeatedly without major losses. User Info: Stuflames Stuflames 5 years ago 9 Mostly, in my experience, surgery saves money. Party Skills Mount And Blade Full Fighting PowerIt saves in training troop costs from raising troops up their tiers(which is not all that cheap), it saves on supporting extra less-useful troops in your army until they are raised up to full fighting power for your party or garrison, and most importantly it saves on needing an extra reserve of your expensive fighting men garrisoned so you can do long campaigns okay.
